Putty is to miniatures what filler is to a wall: it closes the gap between parts, fixes a flaw in a casting and, when needed, lets you sculpt a cloak, fur or a new piece of kit. We stock AK Interactive putties.

• AK white and grey modelling putty, 20 ml – for small repairs: the gap between arm and torso, sprue marks, minor unevenness.
• AK Greenpower – two-part epoxy putty, two 10 cm strips per pack. Mixing both parts gives a compound you can shape until it cures. The ratio of the parts changes hardness and curing speed. Wet your tools with water or coat them with petroleum jelly so the putty does not stick.

Before painting, let the putty cure completely and prime it together with the whole miniature using a primer – the paint will then hold on putty just as on plastic or resin.
