Black Caiman – 3D printed resin figure, 75mm (1/24), ready to paint. Printed to order, ships within 7 days.

A black caiman in a slow walk with its jaws slightly open. It is the largest predator of the Amazon basin, reaching up to five metres and ranking among the biggest crocodilians in the world. The sculptor emphasised the rows of bony scutes along the back and tail, which give a sharp relief – perfect for drybrushing and dark glazes.

Scale and format

The model is 1/24 scale, which corresponds to 75mm in hobby terms. The caiman is printed without a base and its belly sits flat, so you can place it on a riverbank, in a water scene or on a simple plinth.

Recommended paints

Despite its name the black caiman is not fully black – the back is dark olive-black, the flanks and lower jaw carry paler yellowish bands and the belly is light:

Printing and preparation

We print the model on an 8K resin 3D printer in high quality, so even the finest details are preserved. The printed model is cleaned, cured and ready for priming and painting. Supports and their marks are removed.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the figure?
Black caimans usually measure 3 to 4 metres, large males more. At 1/24 scale the model is roughly 13 to 17 cm long – a big piece for an animal miniature.

Is the figure painted?
No. The figure comes unpainted in a single resin colour – the colours in the photos show how it can look once painted.

Does it need any preparation before painting?
The model is cleaned and cured after printing and the supports are removed. We recommend applying a primer before painting – paint adheres better and the details stand out.

When will you ship it?
If it is already printed, it ships right away. If not, we print it and ship it within 7 days of your order; with bank transfer, within 7 days of receiving your payment.
