Dark Green INK is a thin transparent green that flows into recesses by itself. On a green uniform or cloak it shades in one pass where layering would take far longer.

What it is for in figure painting

What to pair it with

It works best over Olive Green and Camouflage Green; for a deeper shadow add Burnt Umber.

Frequently asked questions

Why shade green with a green ink?
A brown ink pushes green towards khaki. A green ink darkens while keeping the tone – the uniform stays green rather than dirty.

How do I thin it?
With water or an AK thinner. A few drops are enough for brush work; airbrushing needs more – AK thinners and cleaners are made for that. With acrylics, two thin coats always beat one thick one.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, the 3rd Generation range dries matt. To protect the figure or even out the sheen, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
