Faded Green from the AK 3rd Generation range – a faded muted green for old uniforms and worn cloth. Matt acrylic.

Faded Green is a green the maker deliberately drained of saturation – it looks like cloth after years in the sun. It is one of those shades that are hard to mix, because adding grey usually ruins a green.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a faded effect?
Apply Faded Green only where sun would reach – shoulders, back, the top of a cap. Leave the folds in the original saturated green and let the contrast do the rest.

How do I thin it?
With water or an AK thinner. A few drops are enough for brush work; airbrushing needs more – AK thinners and cleaners are made for that. With acrylics, two thin coats always beat one thick one.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, the 3rd Generation range dries matt. To protect the figure or even out the sheen, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.

The full range is in the AK 3rd Generation category.
