Highland cattle are one of the oldest cattle breeds in the world – their ancestors grazed the Scottish Highlands and the Hebrides centuries ago. They have a double coat: a dense soft undercoat and long coarse guard hairs that shed rain and frost, so they can live outdoors all year. The long fringe, which Scots call the dossan, shields the eyes from wind and insects. Both cows and bulls carry long horns. In Scotland a group of Highland cattle is not called a herd but a fold. They are now kept all over Europe.

How big is the figure?
A Highland cow stands 1.1–1.2 m at the shoulder with a horn span of over 1 m. The creator does not state a scale for this model – we are happy to tell you the exact printed size in advance, just write to us.

Is the figure painted?
No. The figure comes unpainted in a single resin colour – the colours in the photos show how it can look once painted.
