What it is for in figure painting

Shade with Green Ochre or Olive Green; highlight with Sand Yellow and Ice Yellow. With Slime Green it moves towards a more toxic tone.

Is this based on a real specification?
Yes – it derives from the interior anti-corrosive coatings used in aircraft manufacture. The exact shade varied by maker and period, so AK offers one representative version.

Can it be used on figures?
It can, particularly on undead, slime and alchemical effects – yellow-green reads as unnatural, which is an advantage here.

How do I thin it?
With water or an AK thinner. A few drops are enough for brush work; airbrushing needs more – AK thinners and cleaners are made for that. With acrylics, two thin coats always beat one thick one.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, the 3rd Generation range dries matt. To protect the figure or even out the sheen, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
