Frequently asked questions
How do I add patina to this copper?
After all three steps, put a green-blue only into the recesses and at the edges of the deposits, and let the copper show on the edges. Patina never covers metal completely – that is precisely what makes it convincing.
Can it be combined with other Real Heavy Metal sets?
Yes, and it is recommended. On one figure, copper next to silver or gold looks far better than a single metal used for everything.
How do I thin these paints?
With water or an Ionic thinner. They are self-hydrating, so they stay workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop for brush work, roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the set better value than single jars?
If you need at least half the shades, yes – the set costs less than the same number of individual jars. If you are missing only two, buy them separately in the Ionic Smart Colors category.
