What it is for in figure painting

Why use a white ink rather than white paint?
Because an opaque white lightens in a jump and leaves an edge. An ink lightens in layers, so the transition stays smooth.
How do I paint a haze effect?
With several very thin passes, working from the bottom up or from the edges inwards. Haze must have no hard edge – it has to fade away.
How do I thin it?
With water or an AK thinner. A few drops are enough for brush work; airbrushing needs more – AK thinners and cleaners are made for that. With acrylics, two thin coats always beat one thick one.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, the 3rd Generation range dries matt. To protect the figure or even out the sheen, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
