The classic for building plastic kits. Cement is not glue in the usual sense – it softens the plastic slightly and the parts fuse into a weld that, once dry, is stronger than the material around it. This version has medium density and a medium drying time, so you have a few seconds to adjust a part before the joint closes. The wide maxoma-fibre brush is built for larger areas and ordinary hull or running-gear assembly. The bottle has a square base so it will not tip over on the bench – with a liquid that dissolves plastic, that is no small thing.

What to pair it with
For precise spot bonding and other materials, use cyanoacrylate; its dried residue comes off with AK12017 Eraser Cleaner. Hold parts while they set with AK9127 metal clips or neodymium magnets, and cut and trim on the A4 cutting mat.
Frequently asked questions
How does it differ from the thicker and thinner versions?
Standard density is the compromise. The thinner version wicks into an assembled joint by capillary action and dries faster. The thicker one gives more time and fills gaps. Standard handles both jobs, just without being extreme at either.
Does it bond resin or metal?
No. It works only on polystyrene and related kit plastics, because it attacks them chemically. Resin, metal and photo-etch need cyanoacrylate or epoxy.
Why is the bottle not full?
That is deliberate on the maker's part – air above the liquid is needed for the cement to work and to stop it welling out when opened.
