Masking tape can be cut freehand, but a straight strip or an arc of consistent radius will not come out that way. EasyCutting is a board with laser-cut channels in various shapes: stick the tape down, run a blade along a channel and you get exactly the shape you need – a straight strip, an arc, a circle or a saw-tooth. The board is reusable, so it is bought once. It earns its place wherever a mask has to repeat: camouflage stripes across several vehicles of one unit, identical arcs on every wheel, serial markings.

What to pair it with
Any width of AK tape can be cut on it – from 2 mm to 18 mm. For ordinary cutting of plastic and resin the A4 cutting mat is the better surface, and paints for the masked areas are in the AK 3rd Generation range.
Frequently asked questions
Does it blunt the blade?
Less than glass or metal would, and the channel guides the blade so that the cut takes almost no pressure. Most blade wear comes from freehand cutting where the knife skids – which is exactly what this prevents.
Can film and plastic be cut on it?
Thin masking film, yes. For plastic profiles and resin a conventional self-healing mat is better, as it closes after the cut and keeps no groove.
How does it differ from Type 1?
Type 2 carries a different layout and different channel shapes. Modellers often buy both, because they complement each other – no single board can hold every shape.
