Deck Grey is a light grey with an olive cast – the colour of scrubbed deck planking and a field uniform. It is neither a clean grey nor a green; that ambiguity is exactly what makes it so good for things that should look used.

Is Deck Grey a grey or a green?
A grey with an olive undertone. Next to a clean grey it looks greenish, next to a green it looks grey – which is why it bridges the two so well.
What should I shade it with so it does not go green?
A warm grey or a brown, not a green. A green shade would strengthen the cast and the colour would lose its weathered character.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
