Brass is a light brass metallic with a yellow core – brighter and cooler than gold. It is the main highlight of the gold ladder and a colour in its own right for brass fittings, cartridge cases and steampunk details.

Build shadows with Bronze and Copper, transitions and highlights with Steel and Silver.
How does it differ from Gold?
Brass is lighter, yellower and less red. Use Gold on surfaces and Brass for highlights – the same relationship as Steel and Silver in cold metal.
How do I paint cartridge cases?
Base with Brass, a dark glaze on the lower part and a sharp light point on the rim. Cases are small and shiny – one precise reflection looks better than a smooth gradient.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
