Deep Violet is a dark clean violet – the colour of the night sky just before it goes black. It is the main shade of the violet ladder and an excellent night-lighting colour: everything in shadow under a moon carries exactly this tone.

How do I paint a figure in moonlight?
Glaze the entire shadow side with Deep Violet, keep the lit side cold and bluish, and use warm colours only where there is an artificial light source. A night scene is about what you do not light.
How does it differ from Purple?
Deep Violet is darker and less saturated, Purple lighter and more colourful. Deep Violet is the shadow, Purple the mid tone.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
