Do pastel shades cover well?
Less well than saturated colours – that is true of all pastels. Over a dark base put white or a light colour down first, or you will need three coats.
Can they be used as highlights?
Yes, and that is their best use. Instead of adding white to a colour, step across to the matching pastel and the tone keeps its character.
How do I thin these paints?
With water or an Ionic thinner. They are self-hydrating, so they stay workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop for brush work, roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the set better value than single jars?
