What it is for in figure painting

How many coats does it need?
Two or three thin ones over a light base. Magenta pigments are among the least opaque there are – undercoat in white or pale pink.
How do I mix a good violet?
Magenta plus blue gives a cleaner, more saturated violet than a bottled one, because you decide how much red and how much blue goes into it.
How do I thin it?
With water or an AK thinner. A few drops are enough for brush work; airbrushing needs more – AK thinners and cleaners are made for that. With acrylics, two thin coats always beat one thick one.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, the 3rd Generation range dries matt. To protect the figure or even out the sheen, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
