Malicious Violet is a muted plum violet with a pink undertone. It is not a shouting purple – it is earthy and calm, which is why it can carry large areas without the figure turning into a carnival. As a shade it works under both pinks and violets.

How do I paint a convincing bruise?
A very thin violet glaze in the centre and an even thinner yellow-green around it. A bruise always has two colours – a fresh centre and an ageing edge.
How does it differ from Deep Violet?
Malicious Violet is pinker and lighter, Deep Violet darker and bluer. Malicious Violet is plum, Deep Violet is night.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
