Antique Gold is the muted version of gold in the Real Heavy Metal system – gold that has not been freshly polished. Three coordinated shades give the metal deep recesses and a soft sheen instead of loud glitter, so relics and old trim read expensive rather than cheap.

When do I use Antique Gold and when Hollow Crown Gold?
Antique Gold for old, used objects and Hollow Crown Gold for ceremonial, polished ones. They combine well on a single figure – a polished helmet and an aged relic on the belt.

Can the shades be bought separately?
Not at present. Real Heavy Metal is sold only in these three-jar sets, one per specific metal.

How do I thin these paints?
With water or an Ionic thinner. They are self-hydrating, so they stay workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop for brush work, roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.

Is the set better value than single jars?
If you need at least half the shades, yes – the set costs less than the same number of individual jars. If you are missing only two, buy them separately in the Ionic Smart Colors category.
