Sky Blue is a bright sky blue – light, clean and cheerful. On the blue ladder it is the main highlight step, lightening darker blues without greying them. On its own it suits summer cloth and bright schemes.

What it is good for on miniatures

What to combine it with

Build shadows with Ultramarine Blue and Mediterranean Blue, transitions and highlights with Ice Blue.

Frequently asked questions

How do I build a blue ladder?
Base with Mediterranean Blue or Enchanted Blue, shade with Prussian Blue and Midnight Blue, highlight with Sky Blue and Ice Blue. Blue takes plenty of contrast – two steps up is the minimum.

Does it cover well?
Moderately, like most light blues. Over a dark base put a mid blue down first rather than applying it directly.

How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
