Tanned Flesh is a dark red-brown flesh tone. It is the main shadow of every fair skin ladder and at the same time the base coat for darker complexions. It holds enough red for skin to stay alive and enough depth to create real volume.

Build shadows with Dark Skin, transitions and highlights with Neutral Flesh and Undead Skin.
Is it dark enough for deep shadows?
On fair skin, yes. On dark complexions you need one more step down – Dark Skin, or a very thin Dark Violet as the final shade.
Why does the shadow on my face look dirty?
Usually because it is applied too thickly and over too large an area. A shadow belongs in the recesses only and should be built from several glazes, not one coat.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
