Warlock Purple is a deep saturated violet with no pink cast – a clean royal purple that reads both rich and dark on a figure. It is the colour of necromancer robes, cultists and anything that should look powerful and not entirely benevolent.

What it is good for on miniatures

What to combine it with

Build shadows with Dark Violet, transitions and highlights with Malicious Violet and Blue Violet.

Frequently asked questions

How do I paint saturated violet cloth?
Base with Warlock Purple, shade the folds with Dark Violet and build highlights through Blue Violet and Light Lavender. Violet takes more contrast than most colours – do not be afraid to push the highlights high.

Does it cover black primer?
In two to three thin coats. It gains saturation if you base it with Light Magenta – always a good trick with violets.

How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
