What Rage Resin Models is

The range is built on the sculpts of Raul Garcia Latorre and his brand Enigma. These are his classic figures, now cast in resin by master Verdier, so it is the same sculpt in a better material. Alongside them the range carries work by other sculptors – Halsten by Aaron Ruíz, for instance, or Morgut by Joaquin Palacios.

Scales

• 35 mm – the wargaming scale. Quick to paint and built to be picked up.
• 54 mm – the middle ground. Transitions on a face already show, but the job does not drag.
• 75 and 90 mm – cabinet and competition pieces. Large surfaces where you can go all the way.

What resin means in practice

Resin holds detail more crisply than moulded plastic, but it behaves differently. Before painting, the casting needs its gates removing, its mould lines working over and a wash in warm soapy water – mould release stays on the surface and paint will not key over it. It is joined with cyanoacrylate, not the capillary plastic cement that has no effect on resin. And primer is not optional: acrylic on bare resin lifts with handling.

Frequently asked questions

Do the figures come painted?
No. All are supplied as unpainted castings and most without a base. The box art was painted by professionals – it shows what the figure can become, not what is in the box.

What else is needed?
Primer, paint, brushes and cyanoacrylate. A base and scenic materials depending on how you want to finish the piece.

Are they suitable for a beginner?
Yes, the 35 mm ones especially – they cost less and can be painted in an evening. The large 75 and 90 mm figures are an investment worth making once you know what you are aiming for.
