Halsten, Wolf Nose is a 90 mm figure from the Rage Resin Models range. The sculpt is by Aaron Ruíz from concept art by Eduardo Fernández, and the box art was painted by Arnau Lázaro – names that mean something in this scene. Ninety millimetres is a scale with nowhere to hide: every transition on the face shows, along with the texture of the skin and how the metal has been painted. It is also the most comfortable scale to paint in, because the surfaces are large and the brush has room to move. Supplied unpainted and without a base.

What to pair it with
Resin needs a primer – paint will not hold without one. Painting is done with AK 3rd Generation acrylics or Ionic Smart Colors, and brushes are in the da Vinci category. The base is finished with AK textures and vegetation.

No. It is supplied as an unpainted resin casting without a base. The box art was painted by Arnau Lázaro.
Who is 90 mm for?
For anyone who wants to paint without holding back. A large scale forgives fewer mistakes but allows everything – transitions, textures, object source lighting and NMM.
Does the figure need preparation before painting?
Yes. Cut off the gates, work over the mould lines, wash the casting in warm soapy water and prime it. On a large surface every line left in place shows the moment you spray.
