Twelve-millimetre tape is for surfaces, not details – masking a canopy, a window, a whole panel or the top half of a hull before spraying. One pass covers what three narrow strips would, and does it faster and straighter. The rice paper holds even on smooth varnish, tears by hand, and on removal leaves no adhesive and does not lift dried paint. The roll carries 20 metres.

What to pair it with
The same tape comes in 2 mm, 3 mm, 5 mm, 18 mm as well – for camouflage it is worth keeping at least two widths. Cut it to shape on the AK A4 cutting mat or with EasyCutting Type 2, and find paints for the masked areas in the AK 3rd Generation range.
Frequently asked questions
How long can the tape stay on a model?
A few days without trouble. There is no reason to leave it longer – the adhesive leaves no residue, but heat and sunlight make any tape grip harder over time. Peel it back slowly at a shallow angle over itself, not straight up.
Why rice paper?
It is thin and pliable, so it does not lift at edges and paint cannot creep underneath. It also tears by hand without scissors and does not pull off the dried coat below, which ordinary paper or plastic tape does routinely.
Does it work on curved surfaces?
The narrow widths do – 2 and 3 mm follow a gentle curve without creasing. On a tighter curve any tape will ruck; there it is better to lay two short pieces end to end than to force one long piece around.
