Two-part epoxy resin for deep, crystal clear water. 180 ml, 2:1 mix, no shrinkage, no bubbles, two syringes included.

When you need depth, an acrylic surface is not enough – the water has to be cast. Resin Water is a low-odour, two-part epoxy resin mixed 2:1 (resin to hardener) that does not shrink and leaves no bubbles. It can be poured deeper in one go than acrylic products, so it will build a harbour, a well or an aquarium under a 75 mm figure. Two syringes and instructions are in the box.

What it is good for

  • Deep water at a pier, pontoon or ship's hull
  • A well, tank or fountain where you see below the surface
  • A poured river surface across a whole base
  • Glacial water and clear blocks in a winter scene

What to combine it with

Paint the bottom and walls before pouring. Add surface ripples and waves after curing with Water Gel Effects and foam with Water Foam. If you need more material there is also a 375 ml version. For ice blocks reach for Resin Ice.

FAQ

How exact does the 2:1 ratio have to be?
Exact. Measure with the syringes, not by eye – excess hardener leaves a tacky surface that never cures. Stir slowly for at least two minutes so you do not whip in bubbles.

Why did my resin stay soft?
Either the ratio was off or the temperature was below 18 °C. Pour at room temperature and leave the work somewhere warm for at least 24 hours.

Do I have to dam the base?
Yes. The resin is liquid and will find every gap. Seal the edges with modelling clay or masking tape before pouring.

Can the resin be tinted?
Yes, but only with pigments made for resins or a minimal amount of acrylic. Too much water-based paint will stop it curing.
