The same principle as Water Gel Transparent, in a smaller pot and with the emphasis on movement. Behind it sits a one-part, water-based, very low odour resin that holds its shape even on a vertical surface – exactly what you need when lifting a wave in front of a bow or pulling a waterfall down a rock. A hundred millilitres goes a surprisingly long way, because this product is applied where it matters rather than across a whole surface.

What it is good for
- The wake and broken water in front of a ship's bow
- A waterfall or stream running down a rock – the gel holds vertically
- Ripples around the leg of a figure standing in water
- Ripples and highlights on an already finished water surface
What to combine it with
Build the surface from Water Gel Atlantic Blue or Still Water and use this gel only for movement and detail. Finish white crests with Water Foam. If you need a large area of clear water, Water Gel Transparent in 250 ml works out cheaper.
FAQ
How does it differ from Water Foam?
Water Gel Effects is transparent and creates the shape of the wave. Water Foam is white and creates the foam. A convincing wake needs both – shape first, then foam on the crest.
Can it be shaped while drying?
Yes, and that is its main strength. For the first hour you can pull and lift it with a toothpick or an old brush before it starts to set.
How do I clean my tools?
Water, as long as the gel is still wet. Rinse the spatula and the old brush right after use – cured acrylic gel will not come off.
Does it stick to resin and plastic?
Yes, it holds on resin, plastic, plaster and painted wood. The surface has to be clean and grease-free or the gel will lift at the edges.
