This is the darkest point of the palette – build highlights with Copper and Bronze.
How do I paint a scorched barrel?
From the muzzle backwards: Burnt Metal where the heat is worst, then a transition through brown and violet glazes into ordinary steel. Scorching has a colour gradient – it is not just a darker patch.
Can I use it as a general metal shade?
Yes, and it is better than black for it. Black takes the sheen out of metal; Burnt Metal darkens it while keeping the metallic character.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
