Copper is a warm copper metallic with a strong red tone. It is the colour of copper pipes, boilers and steampunk machinery, and the essential base for any green patina – without a copper undercoat patina never looks convincing.

How do I paint copper patina?
Base with Copper, then Dark Turquoise in the recesses only, Verdigris on the edges of the deposits, and finally let Copper show on the edges people would touch. Patina never covers metal completely.
Can I mix it with other metallics?
Yes. Copper with Silver gives rose gold, Copper with Gold a warmer bronze. Metallics mix as readily as ordinary paints.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
