The medium is a clear, low-viscosity gel that solves a single problem: Quick Gen paints must not be thinned with water. Water breaks the surface tension, the paint pools into stains and leaves rings – the medium thins it while keeping the resin properties intact.

FAQ
What ratio should I mix medium and paint at?
Roughly one part paint to one part medium for a gentle lightening, up to 1:3 for a very thin layer. Mix on a palette, not in the bottle – in the bottle you would dilute the whole thing permanently.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
