Orange-yellow Wargame Terrains texture for limestone deserts and scorching planets. A 100 ml pot.

This orange-yellow texture is made for desert areas dominated by limestone rocks – scorching plains, canyons and parched planets under twin suns. The warm tone looks like ground lit by the evening sun, hence the name. It belongs to the Wargame Terrains line, which means a smaller 100 ml pot at a price that suits a wargamer building bases in batches rather than one large diorama.

What it is good for

  • Desert bases for fantasy and sci-fi armies
  • Canyons and parched limestone plains
  • A warm base for miniatures in cool colours
  • Scenes on scorching planets

What to combine it with

For paler sand in the same scene, reach for Terrains Desert Sand or Terrains Sandy Desert. Add reddish veins with Bloody Land and settled dust with White Ashes pigment.

FAQ

Does it suit a historical desert such as North Africa?
The tone is quite bold for a historical scene. Desert Sand or Sandy Desert look more natural for a real desert – Sunrise Blaze is built more for fantasy and sci-fi.

How do I clean my tools?
Water, as long as the paste is still wet. Rinse the spatula and the old brush right after use – cured acrylic paste will not come off.

Can the paste be thinned?
Yes, with water or acrylic thinner if you need it to flow better. Thinning costs it some shape retention, so go easy.

You will find more textures, pastes and effects in the AK Interactive Textures & Pastes category.
