Dark Sea Blue is a very dark green-blue – the colour of the sea just above the bottom. It is the deepest point of the turquoise ladder and the best shade for anything with a green-blue character: water, scales, patina and deep-sea creatures.

Build shadows with Black, transitions and highlights with Turquoise and Light Turquoise.
Is it a blue or a green?
Exactly between the two. Next to a blue it reads green, next to a green it reads blue – which is why it shades both families.
Can I use it instead of black?
Yes, in marine and turquoise schemes it is the better choice. The shadow stays coloured and the area does not read as a hole.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
