Ice Yellow is a light yellow with a clear golden warmth. It is the colour that makes the top points of gold in non-metallic metal work – without it NMM gold always looks slightly flat. It serves equally well as a highlight on yellow cloaks and sandy bases.

Why is it called Ice when it is warm?
The name comes from the original Ionic palette and refers to the icy transparency of the tone, not its temperature. The colour is clearly warm.
How many coats on NMM gold?
Usually two thin ones, but only over a small area – an NMM highlight should be narrow. A wide band of gold kills the shine.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
