Yellow is a mid golden yellow – what most people picture when they hear the word. It has enough warmth not to look acidic and enough saturation to carry a whole cloak. It is the most used yellow in the range and the cornerstone of the yellow ladder.

Build shadows with Primary Yellow and Golden Yellow, transitions and highlights with Ice Yellow and High Coverage Yellow.
How do I build a whole yellow ladder?
Base with Yellow, shade with Golden Yellow and Bubonic Ochre, highlight with Ice Yellow and Vanilla. Never add black to the shade – yellow cannot take it.
Does it cover over red?
With difficulty. Over red or brown go through High Coverage Yellow first and use Yellow only as the final tone.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
