What it is for in figure painting
- Bone and ivory – skulls, horns, tusks and bone ornaments.
- Old canvas and paper – scrolls, maps and tarpaulins.

What to pair it with
Shade with Deck Tan or Dark Sand; highlight with Titanium White. Deepen bone with a brown glaze in the recesses.
Frequently asked questions
Why not paint teeth white?
Because pure white teeth look artificial. Ivory with a weak brown glaze between them reads naturally even on a small figure.
Ivory or Offwhite?
Ivory is warmer and creamier; Offwhite is more neutral. Ivory for bone and old paper, Offwhite for white clothing.
How do I thin it?
With water or an AK thinner. A few drops are enough for brush work; airbrushing needs more – AK thinners and cleaners are made for that. With acrylics, two thin coats always beat one thick one.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, the 3rd Generation range dries matt. To protect the figure or even out the sheen, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
