Misty Grey is a mid grey with a soft blue-violet cast. It is the workhorse grey of the range – neutral enough to work anywhere, cold enough to give a figure atmosphere. On black cloth it is the first highlight step; on stone it is the base coat.

How do I keep black cloth from looking flat?
Base with Dark Violet or black, first step Misty Grey on the raised areas only, second Smoke Grey on the edges. Black cloth needs more highlights than any other colour or it merges into one mass.
Is it a cold grey or a neutral one?
Slightly cold. For a fully neutral grey take Neutral Grey; for a distinctly cold one, Fog Grey.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
