Pale Skin is a near-white flesh tone with a soft pink warmth. It is the top step of the flesh ladder – where white already reads as a statue, Pale Skin still reads as skin. Use it either as a highlight or as a base for very fair characters.

Build shadows with Neutral Flesh and Dwarf Skin, transitions and highlights with White.
Should highlights stop here or go to white?
On most figures Pale Skin is enough. Add white on only one or two extreme points – the tip of the nose, say – and only on larger models.
Can I use it as the base for a whole figure?
Yes, but then you need firm shading. Without it the skin stays flat, because the colour carries very little contrast of its own.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
