Rainfall Blue is a mid slate blue – muted, but unmistakably blue. It is the colour of a rainy sky and of field uniforms: saturated enough to carry a whole area and calm enough not to steal all the attention.

What to combine it with

Build shadows with Mediterranean Blue and Ultramarine Blue, transitions and highlights with Ice Blue and Sky Blue.

Frequently asked questions

How do I keep a uniform from looking flat?
Base with Rainfall Blue, shade the folds with Prussian Blue and highlight with the same tone plus a drop of Ice Blue. Highlights on a uniform are always narrow – the cloth is not shiny.

Does it cover well?
Yes, better than the more saturated blues. One solid coat over grey primer is enough.

How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
