Rock Grey is a dark grey with a pronounced olive cast – the colour of wet stone and a field uniform in shadow. It is neither a clean grey nor a green, and that ambiguity makes it a very natural dark tone for natural surfaces.

How do I paint a rock in a few minutes?
Base with Rock Grey, dry-brush Moon Grey and touch the highest edges with Old Bone. Three passes and the rock has shape – on bases it is the best result-to-time ratio there is.
Why is it so greenish when it is called Grey?
Natural stone is not neutral grey – it carries lichen, moss and soil residue. The olive cast makes it a more convincing rock than a clean grey.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
