What to pair it with

Shade with Carbon Black or Black; highlight with Anthracite Grey and Neutral Grey. Suggest dust on tyres by drybrushing Dark Sand.

Frequently asked questions

Why not paint tyres pure black?
Because black shows no shape. Real rubber is dark grey and catches light – Rubber Black already allows for that, and only needs edge highlights.

How do I paint black clothing?
The same way – never base in pure black. Rubber Black or dark grey as the base, Carbon Black in the folds and grey highlights on the edges.

How do I thin it?
With water or an AK thinner. A few drops are enough for brush work; airbrushing needs more – AK thinners and cleaners are made for that. With acrylics, two thin coats always beat one thick one.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, the 3rd Generation range dries matt. To protect the figure or even out the sheen, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
