Scaly Green is a dark green with a strong blue core – exactly the colour of reptile scales in shadow. It is the main shade for cool greens and a good base coat for dragons, snakes and anything scaled.

How do I paint dragon scales?
Base with Scaly Green, lighten each scale at its upper edge and leave the lower one dark, and give a few scales a deliberately different colour. Finish with a light glaze over the whole area to unify it.
Is it a green or a turquoise?
Formally a turquoise, in practice a dark cool green. Use it according to what sits next to it.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
