The resin mixes with pigments and plaster into thick, plastic mud that can be laid on in volume and holds its shape. It is a different tool from a fixer: a fixer seals pigment where it lies, the resin turns it into material. It dries slowly, which leaves time for shaping, and once cured it is very hard to remove – so work deliberately and in small amounts. It also serves as an adhesive, though it is not PVA.

Frequently asked questions
What ratio should the resin be mixed at?
There is no fixed ratio – it follows the consistency you need. Start with a little resin and add pigment until the mix holds its shape. Extra plaster gives the compound bulk and a matt surface.
How long does it take to dry?
Slowly, hours rather than minutes depending on thickness. That is an advantage: there is time to shape and add to it. Once cured it is very hard to remove, so wipe off excess while it is still wet.
Is it the same as PVA?
No. It bonds similarly but stays more flexible and mixes with pigment without bleaching it the way white glue does. For joining parts, use proper adhesives.
