Natural material has one quality synthetic vegetation never reaches: irregularity. Every stem of sea grass bends differently, runs a different length and a different thickness, so what grows out of it does not look manufactured. It is used for dry vegetation, as a base layer under denser planting, and anywhere a scene should look neglected. The method is simple: cut a piece, arrange it and fix it with PVA.

What to pair it with
Ready-made shrubs come as spring green and blooming yellow. Low growth comes from dry static grass, groundwork from AK textures and colour from pigments.
Frequently asked questions
Does sea grass need treating?
If it is properly dried, no – dry material does not rot. If you are unsure, leave it somewhere warm for a few days before gluing. A thin coat of matt varnish protects it long-term.
How do I make a bush from it?
Bind a cut bundle at the root with fine wire or a drop of cyanoacrylate, splay the stems outward and trim the top to shape. Then it is sprayed with colour and dusted with flock.
Can it be coloured?
Yes. The natural colour is straw, so any shade sprayed on with an airbrush holds. Two tones of green make it a summer stand, brown an autumn one.
