This is the set for painters who would rather not mix. Five shades run in prepared order from Dark Shadow Flesh to Highlight Flesh, so you paint layer by layer without thinking about ratios. The sixth bottle, Reddish Black, is a glaze for cheekbones, nose and knuckles – the detail that turns a technically correct face into a living one. The range was originally sold as AK3010.

What to combine it with
If you prefer to mix your own tones, reach for Human Flesh Tones. Add leather gear with Leather and Buckles, and soften skin highlights with Pastels Color Set.
FAQ
How many layers does the proper sequence take?
Three to five. Base Flesh flat, Shadow Flesh into the folds, Light Flesh on raised areas, Highlight Flesh only on nose, brow and chin. Dark Shadow Flesh goes only into the deepest recesses.
What skin does the ladder cover?
European light skin. Darker tones can be mixed in by adding brown or Red Wine from Human Flesh Tones, but they are not in the set itself.
Can the paints be bought individually?
Yes. These are standard shades from the AK 3rd Generation range in 17 ml bottles, so when one runs out you only replace that one.
Can they be airbrushed?
Yes. Thinned with 3rd Generation thinner they pass through a 0.2 mm nozzle as easily as lacquer paints. Neat, they are meant for brushwork.
