Leather and metal always travel together on a figure – a belt has a buckle, a holster a rivet, a boot a clasp. This set treats them as one job: four leather tones from shadow to highlight, plus Gilt Metal and Natural Steel for the fittings. Each shade carries its role in the name, so the sequence is clear without a guide. It works on figures from any period, from a Roman soldier to a modern operator.

Add the skin with Flesh and Skin Colors or Human Flesh Tones; a wider metal palette is in Metallics Colors Set. The transition between skin and leather is unified by Skin and Leather Colors Set.
How do I get the sheen of old leather?
Keep the base matt and add the sheen last – spot gloss varnish only where leather bends and gets polished by wear. An all-over sheen reads as a patent shoe, not as worn kit.
Why only two metals in the set?
Because gear practically only ever carries two – brass on buckles and steel on the rest of the fittings. A wider palette is what the separate metallic set is for.
Can the paints be bought individually?
Yes. These are standard shades from the AK 3rd Generation range in 17 ml bottles, so when one runs out you only replace that one.
Can they be airbrushed?
Yes. Thinned with 3rd Generation thinner they pass through a 0.2 mm nozzle as easily as lacquer paints. Neat, they are meant for brushwork.
More paint sets are in the AK 3rd Generation Paint Sets category, and individual shades in AK 3rd Generation.
