Rotten Flesh is a pale yellow-green skin – the colour of flesh that has started to change. It is not a shouting zombie green but a muted khaki tone, which is exactly why it looks more unsettling. It also works well off the skin, on old cloth and bone.

How do I paint decomposing flesh with it?
Base with Rotten Flesh, put a thin violet or dark red into the recesses and touch the wounds with a saturated red. The contrast between the dead tone and live blood carries the effect.
Is it a green or a flesh tone?
A flesh tone with a green shift. Next to healthy skin it reads green, next to a green it reads as dirty skin.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
