Carving Foam is a phenolic foam that scribes, cuts and stamps like soft stone. One sheet becomes a stone wall, a cobbled road, a brick face or the base of a building – all of it with an ordinary knife and a scriber, with no dust and no sawing. Compared with the coarser Construction Foam this one is more rigid, more resistant and finer-grained, so it holds small detail such as the mortar lines between bricks. The 8 mm thickness in A5 format is sized for smaller scenes and bases.

Frequently asked questions
What tools work the foam?
A sharp knife, a scriber, or even a pointed spatula. For mortar lines a blunt point is better – you press rather than cut, so the edges stay naturally uneven, like an old wall.
Can the foam be painted directly?
Yes, acrylic holds on it. It is worth sealing the surface first with a thinned coat or primer, though – otherwise the first coat soaks in and uses more paint than it should.
What glue works on the foam?
White PVA or epoxy. Avoid cyanoacrylate in quantity – it heats up quickly and attacks the surface. For joining sheets, PVA and a weight overnight give the best result.
