FAQ
Can Quick Gen be airbrushed?
Yes, but only thinned with the medium – not with water or a standard acrylic thinner. Start at 1:1 and around 1.5 bar; even through an airbrush the contrast paint still settles into the recesses.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
