Brown is a general-purpose mid brown – what the word brings to mind. It is warm enough to read as leather and neutral enough to be pushed in any direction. It is one of those jars that empties first.

Build shadows with Dark Ochre and Black Brown, transitions and highlights with Golden Sand and Mushroom Brown.
Which brown should I buy first?
This one. From Brown with a sand, a black and a red you can mix almost the whole brown ladder – the other browns are for when you would rather not mix.
How do I paint leather quickly?
Base with Brown, glaze brown into the folds, dry-brush Sand along the edges. Three steps, and the straps on a tabletop figure look better than most.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
