FAQ
Why not paint the whole armour in Cold Steel?
Because polished metal across an entire surface loses its form – everything merges into one sheen. Keep the base in Dark Steel and use Cold Steel only where metal would really rub bright.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
