How do I get a sharp edge on a blade?
Lay Dark Steel across the blade and drybrush the cutting edge with Cold Steel once dry. The gap between the dark body and the bright edge is what the eye reads as sharpness.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
