Devil Red is a warm red with a clear orange pull – a colour that looks lit from inside. On demons and fire creatures it is the natural choice, but it works equally well on statement cloaks where red should read alive rather than dark.

Frequently asked questions
How do I paint demonic skin?
Base with Devil Red, shade the recesses with Dark Red and Scab Red, and highlight up through orange into yellow. Use a contrasting cool colour for horns and claws, or the figure merges together.
How does it differ from Blood Red?
Devil Red is warmer and more orange, Blood Red cleaner and more saturated. Devil Red is about fire, Blood Red about blood.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
